5 Stars Neat workhorse with booster battery
First let me say that I scourged the internet for netbook reviews before buying this product. Now having said that, this thing is fierce. Having worked at Best Buy selling laptops I have physically held alot of laptops, I can tell that the quality Asus has put into their product is great. When I build computers I prefer to stick to Asus parts, and time and time again I am rewarded with quality and performance. The weight of the machine is perfectly acceptable given that this booster battery pack is such a beast. I have just upgraded from Internet Tablet – Nokia N810 Portable Internet Tablet

Now that I have such a formidable little machine that can tear through Flash CS3, as well as Photoshop, Inkscape, Bluefish. I am truly impressed at the level of output of the Atom processor, knowing that going into the race I knew it was about getting the right chipset.

I do recommend using a stripped lean version of Windows XP. Immediately recognized USB Cd/DVD Drive.

If you can buy, I do recommend it.

Given that I have a wifi internet-tablet linux webserver with PHP + Python and this little netbook, I feel very tech powerful.

SD card is great, webcam is suprisingly clear just need to make sure adequate light.

This is my first Mini that I bought to replace my big bulky Dell laptop. Don’t get wrong I loved my laptop, but not very protable. The HD screen on my Acer is crystal clear. I can even read the small fonts. When i got the laptop, it freezing up after about an hour. I called Acer & they gave me a service code number. I sent it in to the reapair shop and got it back with a new hard drive a week later. By far the best customer service I have enounterd yet. Signed a very happy customer. It’s OK if you just want to check your mail but even with the extra 1MB ROM I added it is very slow for games. Nice size and light weight.

5 Stars Great, but use my tiny acer more often
I bought this because writing a paper on the teeny tiny acer one is hard, as you’re lucky to see one paragraph at a time. However, that’s pretty much the extent of my using it I’ve noticed – I tend to use my tiny acer ALL THE TIME and this bigger one (which is still small by most standards) far less. Also, I initially ordered red, but ended up getting a white one upon returning it because the battery connections were broken. The red isn’t true to color for what you see online, so think twice and go for a black, white or blue I’d say.

They don’t have stickers yet for this size, but I have my little one all stickered up and I LOVE it! Check it out: Gypsy Design Skin Decal Sticker for Acer (Aspire ONE) 8.9-inch Netbook Laptop They look great and I get tons of compliments on it.

If you have vision issues, I’d go with the 11.6″ for sure, and be sure to get the extended battery. It’s really a great computer and if not for my tiny one I’m sure I’d be using it constantly.

4 Stars Not bad for $299
I’ve had many netbooks over the past year and this has the largest screen. It is thin and the battery life is great. However, it is slooowwweer than the other netbooks. With all the pixels it packs and a slower processer than the N270, things kinda drag. But for $299 (half the price of the original iphone 8 gig!!), you can’t beat it! I tried Windows 7RC and it was SLOW so put back on XP (from the back up discs I made- they don’t come with them so make sure you do that FIRST THING) and then it was much faster. Can’t complain but you won’t be watching HD videos or high performance games!

2 Stars Slow as molasses
I purchased this machine for a class I took, and found it was too slow to be useful. When I returned home, I looked at the disk, and it had numerous files which were not Germaine to XP, and which I did not create. I’m sure this machine was previously owned, and re-packaged by the store. I contacted Acer, and paid them to ship me the original XP install disks. I re-formatted the disk, and loaded the OS on a clean disk. To my surprise, the machine was still to slow for me. Browsing the internet was painfull, and the boot time was almost 2 minutes. I decided either to sell it, or to make it work for me. I exchanged the 1GB memory for a 2GB strip; Replaced the HDD with a 32GB SSD, and formatted the disk, and loaded Ubuntu. It is now a nice machine… very usable.

I purchased the Acer Aspire Acer Aspire One AOD150-1920 10.1-Inch Ruby Red Netbook – 6.5 Hour Battery Life netbook a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. This was my first laptop-ish purchase, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had read a lot of reviews and price comparisons. The Acer was at the top of many product reviews, plus the price was great. I also had an amazon gift card, which made the purchase through amazon an easy choice for me.

The Acer battery life is great! Unlike some other comparable netbooks, the Acer’s battery life is 6.5 hours. Initially, I didn’t think the battery life would be that much of a deal breaker for me, but now I am definitely glad that I went with a netbook that has longer battery life.

I love a lot of things about the Acer….the color, the battery life, the keyboard, the functionality, the quality…etc. At this point, the only minor complaint I have is that the mouse can be a little sensitive. It sometimes clicks on things before I have even realized I have clicked the mouse. Otherwise, no complaints.

I would highly recommend the Acer, especially for first time netbooks users. You will get all the features you want in a stylish netbook.

I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase the Asus Eee PC 1005HA. I was very excited about the decision to buy this one. It’s cute and people seemed happy with it. Since recieving it i’ve been able to use it 2 or 3 times. It freezes up every time I turn it on. Asus instructed me on how to restore it and it’s still not working. I have to mail it in to Asus (and pay for shipping) so that they can repair it. I have had this netbook for 5 weeks. Very disappointing….I wanted to love it and use it for travel but so far it’s been nothing but a headache.

I had great hopes for this little computer after reading the reviews. However, my experience wasn’t so good. I charged the battery overnight, then turned on the computer the next day. After a few seconds of lighted display screen, nothing. I contacted the company, but the advice they gave me was not compatible for my model. I had to send it back. I then bought a netbook computer locally in case there were problems again. A big disappointment, since I couldn’t get the same model. The original model has a dongle for attaching to a projector for presentations.

Very light and portable, GREAT battery life and wonderful resolution. The only quibble is the keys are a tad finicky, as they sometimes push down too far or overlap. Im typing my Review on my new Acer AO751h. The 11.6″ High Def Screen is FANTASTIC. Big, Bright, PERFECT. Keyboard is FAST and quiet. Construction feels very solid, no creaks or bending. My desktop is a 2.16 Ghz

Core Duo with an ASUS SLI Motherboard, and frankly Im amazed how well this little single core holds its own in comparison. The fact is, if you are doing heavy PROCESSING jobs like Gaming or Video editing, heck yeah a 1.22 Ghz wont cut it. If you are low on cash and want a full fledged all purpose LAPTOP computer, this aint it. You will be Hatin’ it! But for Web Surfing, Music, YouTube, e-mail etc, I find it to be WAY FAST ENOUGH. And compared to OTHER NETBOOKS, and I’ve BEEN shopping them all, this IS the one with all the goodies for the price. Personally, XP, 2gig Ram (I replaced the 1 gig with a 2 gig stick from Amazon for like, $28 ) the Great Keyboard, and the Fab 16 x 9 High Def Screen puts this one ahead of all the others. This replaced a 15.4 laptop computer.

What I like:

Battery life! Hours and hours even using wifi and screen on full bright. The extended battery adds a little to the size and weight but is worth it.

Screen is bright and clear.

Windows XP.

Computer is fast enough for general usage with included 1GB of memory.

What I don’t like.

Trial software. I removed most of it and installed my own.

Although the screen is great, it would really help if the screen was 720 pix high instead of 600. This is my only real complaint about the computer.

I am very happy with this netbook and the service I received from Amazon.

4 Stars Nice Netbook
I decided to purchase this particular netbook a few weeks ago after doing much online research and wanted to give it a good run before commenting. I was all set to go with the Asus 1005HA based on CNET’s reviews and then I saw a friend with this attractive netbook and went straight to Best Buy to put hands on and check out similar side by side.

The Toshiba, hands down, had a better built feel and the keyboard is awesome with the exception of occasionally resting on the tiny tab key while typing, but getting used to that…undo is a quick fix while adapting. A number of reviewers have already commented about the tab key. Absolutely love the responsive keyboard and the reflective silver keys in low light which is really handy compared to black keys…think about it if you like to type in low light like while watching TV. I can’t say enough about the pluses of the keyboard.

Pros:

*Keyboard is very responsive and the silver keys reflect in low light for easy typing

*Battery charge is great – 6.5 hours today with 65% charge remaining

*Smudge free case vs. other models with glossy finishes

*Feels pretty solid for a small computer and I have no objection to the battery pack on the back like some have mentioned – seems common for the 6-cell battery builds

Cons:

*Like many have already mentioned…the touchpad can be a bit quirky at times. Since I don’t use a mouse unless forced to, this was a major concern. Adapting quickly to the touchpad and updated the driver to Win7…still out on whether it’s made any difference but haven’t noticed anything ill effects on XP.

*Speakers are weak sounding like many have mentioned, but I wasn’t expecting much anyway…updating the Realtek driver made a slight difference. Hey, plug in your earbuds!

My overall conclusion is that I’m very happy with this netbook because it is very portable and does exactly what it’s intended for. If I have only one concern it would be the cost and quality of future batteries which seems to be the curse of these devices.

5 Stars Great for the price
This is a great little net book and well worth the money. I purchased this netbook to use while traveling and it fits all of my expectations. I’m very impressed with the size and weight but must admit that I was expecting it to be a little less than what they are (just slightly though). The batter is wonderful! I have gotten 6-7 hours out of one charge and it still wasn’t empty. I was a little concerned that the smaller screen size would be an issue (as with any net book) but thankfully I didn’t even notice it. There are a few warnings (rather than cons) that I can think of: 1. As I’ve seen in other reviews, the touchpad is a little small but it’s easliy dealt with one you get used to it. 2. The touchpad is sometimes unresponsive or does the wrong action. I’ve had a few times where my intent was to move the pointer position and the scroll feature activated instead. 3. The speakers are a little under powered. 4. The glossy blue finish on the case is easily smudged. Other than that, I would absolutly recommend this net to anyone that’s in the market for one.

I am very satisfied with this product. The setup and installation were very easy and straight-forward, which I appreciate because I’m not a very computer-savvy person! Even though it’s branded as a “netbook,” I find that it more than adequately satisfies all of my computer needs. I have had it for a few weeks, and it works just beautiful! The only thing: because of its size, if you want to play CDs and DVDs, you need to buy a separate, portable CD-Rom/DVD drive–but this is a small price to pay. All in all, highly recommend this little computer!

3 Stars It is very handy and nice soft keyboard.
I like the design of the netbook. The keyboard itself is very comfortable to type. If I stop for a meantime from using it, the light on the screen will go off it is good because it wont consume the battery much. I used it for 6 hours and after that it gives me notice that the battery is low without shutting it off totally. By the way, I didnt really know how many hours will I have to charge the battery before I use it. I havent seen any instruction on charging. Or maybe it is on the Samsung HELP desk I didnt really bother to read about charging. However, I need bigger memory capacity on this because I have problems going to certain websites that needs bigger pixels they wont let me download something. I know I am not a computer expert but I need to purchase higher memory. Furthermore, the words are really really small that I need the netbook to draw it closer to me. And the mousepad or cursorpad(?) is very sensitive. I just noticed that just a slight touch on that it will click or enter right away so I should be careful touching it. Well, so far the design is nice and this is very handy coz it is light I can bring this anywhere. I dont have any problem on the speaker I can hear it even if I am watching TV at the same time just dont turn on your TV volume so loud! So have a wonderful experience on your new Samsung netbook! Shipment was perfect.

Good product except that you need to scroll screen down when you are in office suite screens, apps run quite well!

1 Star Bad Power Adapter
After one week my power adapter died. It took another whole week just to get the necessary paperwork from Asus tech support. That was two weeks ago now and the power adapters are still out of stock. So I’ve only been able to use my netbook for one week out of the month I’ve owned it.

5 Stars Amazing and great for just about anything
I’ve never reviewed anything Ive purchased on amazon before, but it seemed necessary for this netbook. This netbook is great and I love its small compact size and ultra portability. I purchased this in black and it really looks great.The fingerprints can be a tad annoying, but its negligible for what your getting out of this netbook. The keyboard took about 20 minutes to get used to, but i’m now typing on it very comfortably. I’m a computer science student so this is good for programming on the go when im not using my desktop. For browsing the internet this thing is perfect.(I suggest using google chrome)

It also seems like there’s an endless amount of modifications and upgrades that can be made to this netbook.

In terms of battery life its not really 10.5 as advertised. Its more like 8 hrs on a full charge, but when you compare that to most laptops its a godsend.

I just ordered the 2gb upgrade and look forward to seeing what it will be like then.

Purchase this netbook you will not be sorry!
